Bamberg, South Carolina (January 2024) – On Tuesday, SCETV’s Carolina Classrooms Producer Karen Hermann interviewed Bamberg County Voter Registration Director Athena Moorer. 

 

Carolina Classrooms highlights educational stories from around South Carolina, and the Bamberg segment will appear in February’s episode, focusing on the importance of voter registration.

 

Bamberg County Voter Registration Director Athena Moorer was happy to participate and share valuable information with Bamberg County citizens about the ins and outs of voting. “This is an excellent opportunity to combat a lot of the misinformation surrounding voter registration and elections. Keeping the citizens informed with the most accurate and current information is a vital part of  Bamberg County’s mission. Voting and Civic Engagement is important because our vote is our voice, and it matters. Furthermore, when we commit to exercising our civic duty at the ballot box, we demonstrate concern and appreciation for Bamberg County and our great nation,’

said Moorer.

 

County residents are encouraged to visit scvotes.gov to check their voter registration status, view sample ballots, and learn about candidates who have filed to run for office. They also may visit the Voter Registration Office at the Courthouse Annex or call at 803-245-3028.
