Re: Hundreds Attend Bamberg County’s Rabies + Microchip Clinic to Protect and Support Local Pets
BAMBERG, S.C. (May 2025) – The Bamberg County Animal Shelter, Animal Control, and the Bamberg Veterinary Clinic proudly hosted the 2025 Rabies + Microchip Clinic on Saturday, May 3rd, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, providing essential, low-cost pet care to Bamberg County residents.
Pet owners from across the county lined up at 254 Slow Pitch Road to take advantage of $5 rabies vaccinations and FREE microchip services to help protect their beloved animals. In addition to the life-saving services, every attendee also received free pet food, generously donated by Chewy.com, which delivered a truckload of supplies in support of the event.
“We were thrilled by the turnout and so grateful to our citizens for taking steps to keep their pets safe and healthy,” said Virginia “Ginny” Mitchell, Bamberg County Animal Control Officer. “We serviced over 100 animals, helping ensure they’re protected from disease and making it easier to locate their owners if they ever get lost. The smiles, wagging tails, and heartfelt thank-yous made it all worth it.”
This clinic marked another collaborative success for the community. Support came from county officials, animal advocates, and generous sponsors like Chewy.com, whose contribution ensured every family left with the resources they needed to continue caring for their pets.
Bamberg County Administrator Joey Preston praised the team effort behind the event: “This clinic is a shining example of what happens when we come together for the good of the community. The dedication of our Animal Control team, shelter staff, veterinary partners, and the generosity of Chewy.com made this a meaningful and impactful day for Bamberg County.”
Bamberg County extends sincere thanks to everyone who brought out their furry companions and supported this public health initiative. The County remains committed to promoting responsible pet ownership and continuing efforts to ensure the safety and wellness of all animals in our community.
