Re: FY 25-26 Bamberg County Budget Approved
Bamberg, South Carolina (June 2025) – On Friday, June 27, 2025, Bamberg County Council approved the Administrator’s FY 25-26 Budget.
County Council reconsidered the third reading of the budget and voted to remove the EMS millage increase that would have funded the implementation of a Quick Response Vehicle (QRV) resource station in Ehrhardt. During the public hearing on the third budget reading last Monday, several Ehrhardt citizens publicly voiced their disapproval of the millage increase, prompting Friday’s reconsideration of the budget. The amended budget passed with a 6-1 vote.
Administrator Joey Preston said, “The FY 25-26 budget will help support the Bamberg County Public Works Department, Sheriff’s Office, and Detention Center.”
Additionally, Chairwoman Sharon Hammond stated, “Bamberg County Council will continue to strive to improve the quality of life for all Bamberg County citizens, and the newly adopted FY 25-26 budget demonstrates our commitment to that endeavor.”
