Bamberg County Treasurer’s Office drive-thru now open

Posted by 01/06/2017

It’s a new year, with new ways to pay your Bamberg County taxes. The Bamberg County Treasurer’s Office drive-thru service is now available to paying customers. The drive-thru is located to the right side of the Bamberg County Courthouse Annex Building, with the entrance to the drive thru being on North Street. The service is open during normal office hours, Monday – Friday, from 9:00am to 5:00pm, except when the County is closed for a scheduled Holiday.

Bamberg County Treasurer Alice Johnson stated so far it’s been a great success. “Many customers have commented on how fast and convenient the service is to their schedule! Our first customer even said how great it was that he could use the drive-thru.”

The drive-thru window may be used for current vehicle or property payments only. The window does not service the Delinquent Tax Office or the Auditor’s Office. Johnson did say it’s important for customers to know they must bring a copy of their tax bill with them when paying at the drive-thru window. Customers are also only limited to 5 transactions, and can pay with cash, check, money order or credit/debit card. Some fees may apply when paying with a credit/debit card.

Due to the window being available only for the treasurer’s office, it’s important to know if your vehicle qualifies for high mileage, the customer will have to come inside the building to speak with the Auditor’s office.

For any questions about the drive-thru give the office a call, or visit the Annex and find out in person. Parking to visit the annex is across the street from the building, behind the Bamberg County Library. The entrance to the annex is directly across from the parking lot on North Street.
