Bamberg County Hires New Public Information Officer

Bamberg, South Carolina (June 2023) –Bamberg County proudly introduces Alisha Moore as the new Public Information Officer (PIO). Ms. Moore will oversee all digital media platforms, marketing materials, and the Keep Bamberg Beautiful initiative and serve as Bamberg County’s primary public relations contact. She will also compose press releases, help organize special events, and act as a liaison between the administration, staff, and off-site IT management.
While hailing from Northern Kentucky, Ms. Moore has lived in Columbia, SC for decades and raised her three children there. Her background includes working in the gospel music industry with Kirk Franklin for 10 years in California before earning two Bachelor's degrees in Mass Communications and Journalism and Communication and Media Studies and a Master’s degree in Organizational Leadership, all from Ashford University. With extensive experience in digital media and marketing as a professional freelancer and as Digital Media Manager at Ohio Valley Goodwill Industries, Alisha will take Bamberg County’s online and digital presence to the next level.
Alisha was drawn to the Bamberg County PIO position because of her love of community and her desire to “provide valuable information to Bamberg County citizens and work together with them as well as the County administration for the betterment of the community at large.” Her work with Ohio Valley Goodwill Industries and the disabled community instilled her passion to help others, which will be most beneficial in her role as Bamberg County PIO.
County Administrator Joey Preston is excited about this new partnership with Ms. Moore and is confident she will utilize her vast knowledge of marketing, communications, and digital media to “shine a bright light on the true beauty and growth of Bamberg County and its citizens.”
