Bamberg County Airport Featured in Palmetto Aviation Magazine

Bamberg, South Carolina (October 2021) – Bamberg County Airport was recently featured in the Fall 2021 Edition of Palmetto Aviation the official quarterly publication of the South Carolina Aviation Association.

 

The article 'Out With the Old and In With the New' gives a first-hand look of the airport, history behind the facility, details about ongoing improvements, and a snapshot of the services offered. The South Carolina Aviation Association (SCAA) is the only state-affiliated group for aviation professionals and enthusiasts, with the goal of overseeing the safety and development of the state's public use airports and provide safe, reliable air transportation for state government and business prospects. SCAA's President Terry Connorton, in a visit to Bamberg County in September, praised the ongoing progress at the county's airport and underscored the crucial role of airports in generating economic development. Additionally, South Carolina Aeronautics Commission Executive Director, James Stephens, was quoted commending the county administrator and county council for their proactive leadership in revitalizing its airport operations.
