Keep Bamberg County Beautiful

The office of Keep Bamberg County Beautiful (KBCB) focuses their mission on engaging citizens to take a greater responsibility for improving the environment of Bamberg County through efforts in beautification, litter prevention and waste reduction.

The department functions as an affiliate of Keep America Beautiful, Inc. (KAB), a national non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the environment by empowering individuals to take greater responsibility of the protection and enhancement of their local communities.

Since its inception, KBCB has received, or assisted in bringing in more than $480,000, in grant monies from funders such as PalmettoPride, DHEC, and Keep America Beautiful. The organization has assisted in planting more than 300 trees and shrubs throughout the county. KBCB has assisted in the removal of over 75,000 pounds of litter from the roadways, boat landings and parks. The department completes most of its work with volunteers. In addition to volunteers, KBCB partners with South Carolina Department of Transportation, local businesses, churches, and other community organizations to fulfill its mission.
