Sh'Kur Francis is the Keep Bamberg County Beautiful Coordinator and Bamberg County Public Information Officer.
A native of the Lowcountry, Francis graduated from Winthrop University, double majoring in political science and history. He later graduated from Emory University with a master’s in theology. A lifelong learner, he has earned a Certificate in Non Profit Management from Louisiana State University, an Advanced Executive Leadership Certificate from Howard University's School of Business, and completed the Diversity Leaders Initiative at Furman University.
Francis’ prior work experience also includes serving as an aide to Mayor John Tecklenburg of Charleston, executive director of The Bridge, a ministry non-profit organization; public school teacher, and itinerant pastoral ministry in The United Methodist Church.
In 2020, Governor Henry McMaster awarded him the Order of the Silver Crescent, the state of South Carolina’s most prestigious service award, in recognition of his public service, volunteerism, and community building efforts in local communities.
When not at work, Francis enjoys reading, touring historical sites with his family, and serving as the Associate Pastor of Main Street United Methodist Church of Columbia.
