Bamberg, South Carolina (June 2017) – In April, Bamberg County hired Farrell Pulaski as the Environmental Officer. Pulaski was hired after David Harley accepted a position with the Bamberg County Sheriff’s Department.

Pulaski brings a strong professional background to the position. A United States Navy veteran, he worked for the South Carolina Department of Corrections for five years. He also served the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources (SC DNR) for 24 years, his last five years as a Deputy Wildlife Officer.  Working with SC DNR, Pulaski served in many areas of South Carolina including Colleton, Dorchester, Beaufort, Jasper, Orangeburg, Calhoun and Bamberg counties.

“Bamberg County is fortunate to have someone with Farrell’s expertise and experience join our team,” said Joey Preston, Bamberg County Administrator. “Farrell’s extensive background in law enforcement, and his personal commitment to reducing litter, makes him a perfect fit for this position. He will be a tremendous asset in the County’s efforts to reduce litter.”

In addition to enforcing Bamberg County litter ordinances, Pulaski is eager to assist in education programs with Keep Bamberg County Beautiful. “In his first month on the job, Farrell has personally collected over 100 bags of trash,” reported Bill Johnson, Bamberg County Director of Operations. “Farrell does an excellent job educating litter offenders; he is not afraid to get his hands dirty and participate in cleanup efforts himself.”

Pulaski began work with the County in late April 2017. He looks forward to working with the community to educate and reduce the amount of litter in Bamberg County. Pulaski lives in Ehrhardt with his wife; they have four children.
